After a short medical stay in Germany and a month and a half receiving medical care at Walter Reed in Washington, DC, SSG Wilson returned to Fort Stewart to face a whole new set of challenges, doing my online studies and recovering and having my kids at home all at oncebut I made it through.
And we he said he made it through, hes being humble. SSG Wilson made earned his ociates Degree, which typically takes 2 years, in just nine months. He attributes his success to two things, Faith in God and hard work.
As he continues to work toward a Bachelors Degree and ultimately a Doctorate in Information Technology, he hopes his young children will someday understand what he went through and learn from his experience, In the long run, I hope that they do look back and see that their father didn’t stop because he got injured, didn’t want to feel sorry for himself - and they push themselves to achieve higher goals also.”

About the Scholarship The Wounded Warrior Scholarship program was designed through a partnership between Colorado Technical University (CTU) and the Yellow Ribbon Fund to offer educational istance to wounded service men and women as they recover from their injuries and prepare for new career opportunities. Each year, 25 wounded service members receive a full scholarship to attend CTU. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, course materials and fees, as well as a new laptop computer. The Wounded Warrior Scholarship program strives to positively impact extraordinary Americans who have sacrificed to serve their country, while helping to set an example for other corporate, educational and private institutions. Wounded Warrior Scholarship recipients complete their degrees online through CTUs Web-based campus, offering an ideal environment for recovering service members to begin and continue their education as they receive rehabilitation services. The Web-based campus is 100% online allowing students to complete courses from anywhere in the world. To date, CTU has provided more than $1 million in scholarships through the Wounded Warrior program. Scholarship Eligibility Any service member, wounded in operations related to the current wars, currently recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Brook Army Medical Center, Bethesda Naval Hospital and some of the many Warrior Transition Units is eligible for the Wounded Warrior Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded at the first eligible degree level in any chosen field of study.
