I was looking to buy a set of irons but they only came with regular shafts. If I were to get them fitted could I put stiff shafts on my clubs.
definately let a pro do it. There are a lot of factors such as the flex point that are just as important as the flex itself. Torque can also be a big factor.
I have reshafted clubs myself but only clubs like putters and wedges where the shft is short and I don’t to worry about the flex point and torque as much. Its just a matter of mixing up 2 part epoxy and glueing the new shafts to the clubhead so that part is easy. Getting the old clubhead off is just matter of heating the clubhead at the hosel to break down the old epoxy. Let the pros do it ![]()
I recently ran across a place where you can get a chance at Nike Irons and driver, You can probably request the shaft flex you want if you win:

My wife and I want to take up golf. She is 4′ 10". Should I buy her a junior or woman’s set of clubs?
I highly recommend this …
Inferno Complete Men’s Golf Club Set with Stand Bag

Being a first time golfer, I wanted something that was inexpensive till I learned the game and was sure that I want to keep on golfing.
But when I received this set I was very happy to see that it not only looked good but also felt sturdy and not cheap in my hands.
Trying it out on the golf course, I was reassured what a wonderful value I have in my hands. Seeing this, my two other friends have also ordered the same sets themselves.
I would recommend this to any first time buyer till you get the feel of the game and then later move on to more expensive models.
Hope you like it. Good Luck!
Hi, so I want to buy my boyfriend a set of golf clubs and I don’t know what a good brand?
Between Alien, Dunlop, Ram and Top Flite
all crappy sets…… if you have the money get Callaway ( think thats how you spell it ) or if you REALLY LOVE HIM TaylorMade
But if it was out of those sets I guess Top Flite then…..
Does anybody know a website where i would be able to purchase Wilson i-wound golf balls? i have found sites that ship only in the UK or Australia, but i need them in the United States. I found one on a course one day and i loved it, as far as i can tell they have been all but discontinued.

I have a thirteen year old son who loves to golf and he has gone through many junior golf sets so i think it is time for him to move up and i am not sure if i should get him a mens set with a high flex or get him a ladies set.I have heard from many people that gettinh a ladies set for a thirteen year old is what you are supposed to get, is this ture?
Thanks,
John
I wouldn’t say your supposed to do that. Ladies clubs are a good idea though, mainly because of size. As you now, ladies clubs are slightly shorter than mens. Depending on size I would say for a thirteen year old mens clubs are probably too big. Be aware though you will need to buy a mens set within a few years once he has grown a bit, which can happen before you know it.
Definitely high flex and grafite though, what ever you choose.
i’m a beginner golfer and just bought a beginner golf set. when i start getting more serious with the sport, i’m probably going to want to start replacing clubs forming my own set…but what is the time line of when i replace clubs? when do i replace the driver? the irons? the woods? hybrids? what is the average time span?
If properly cared for golf clubs should last several years. As time goes by you will need to have the grips replaced at a cost of about $5 per grip. As far as when to upgrade, that will depend on you. As your game improves and you get more interested in the sport you will want to upgrade to better quality clubs. There’s no real time line for this, it’s more a matter of personal choice. When you’re ready and can afford it, go ahead and upgrade.
The two clubs that are probably replaced the most are your driver and your putter. I’ve had the same set of irons for about 6 years but have changed both my driver and putter twice during that time frame.
I just started getting into the game again, and the only set I of clubs I have is a junior set of Dunlop that I’ve had since I was 14, a little less than 13 years ago. They are a little short, and they have a junior flex, so I know I’ve outgrown them. Eventually I’ll buy a nice pricey brand name set, but right now money is an issue, can anyone recommend a decent set for a decent price? I just need something to last a few years that won’t break. (or break my wallet)
I guess it depends where you live… For example, I live in Canada. At Golf Town, they have iron sets at clearance prices for GREAT prices! It depends what your budget is… If your budget is about $400-500, it is really easy to get a discontinued quality Callaway, Nike, or Taylormade set of irons. If you are looking at a complete set (with drivers etc.), than you can get Ben Hogan of Nicklaus equipment for about 200-300 dollars. You should also consider buying used clubs. For the price of a new complete set of Hogans, for example, you could get a good set of used Taylormades (around 2002) and a used driver… Good luck! =)
