I need help on choosing irons?

Posted by Jeff Blanket

I am on a good day 5-7 handicap and on a bad dad day 10-15. I want to play Wilson staff pi7 irons because I want the tour style head design with forgiveness. Which this iron does have. But something tells me I am not good enough to have tour caliber irons. I am a consistent golfer, but my driving sucks and my short game is bad. My iron play isy my best attribute. Will the pi7 be to much for me to handle or should I get the ci7 irons instead?

Pi7
or
ci7 from Wilson staff

I just want to know if I’m ready for the pi7

I will also be trying out for my schoolgolf team and I want to he at my best then

I hav a set of Muzuno’s, they are very forgiving and hav an oversized head for better striking. Dont get any forged club or they call them also blades, you really hav to shape your shots and play the course more. Forged clubs are tuff to control at your level right now. You need a larger center of gravity for total control, trust me. Go to a PGA Superstore to try them out if you hav one near you. They will let you try any club you want. Good Luck, hope that helps.

They are the gold oversized irons.

They aren’t bad for a low price, low quality club for someone who wants to just go out and golf. I would suggest getting a used set for around the same price from a bigger name. Usually you will get better quality which will help improve your game.

Which fairway wood is best to buy from US?

Posted by Jeff Blanket

I have bought Taylormade chinese make that has totally 13 clubs in India. 3 drivers(1,3,5), 3-9 irons and pitching wedge, sand wedge and a putter. I would like to get a fairway wood from one of my friends who is coming from US.
Please suggest which brand like Wilson and also category of it. And also will it be useful to get a hybrid? If so, plz suggest for that aso. I am practising golf for past 8 months.
Thanks in advance.

The best 3 wood has to be the Taylormade r9, and the best rescue is the Taylormade Burner Rescue 09.

What irons should I buy?

Posted by Jeff Blanket

I am a fairly high handicapper, I hit around 85-95 per round and am looking for a set of irons - what would people recommmend? I currently have a set of Wilson Fat Shafts. Not looking to spend a massive amount either
Im based in Ireland by the way, so looking for something in Ireland or the UK

go with the mizuno mx 23’s with project x shafts that combination really work

I am looking to get some new irons?

Posted by Jeff Blanket

I have some old Wilson’s and i am looking to get new irons. I have a taylormade driver and I like it so I was thinking about getting taylormade irons. I shoot around 85 90. my price range is 300 to 400. any other suggestions on iron sets.

For your price range and experience, the R7’s would be a great buy:http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/product.asp?pf_id=PAPMACLJFMIGGHEA&path=r7&search_handle=QT1yN35CPXI3fkQ9MzB_ST1QcmljZX5LPTR_TD0xfk09MX4&scid=SearchResults&spoffset=1&s_id=0

I’ve used them before I got My Victory Red, great irons, great price, and perfect for your experience. I also know people who have used them and they also said they were great irons. That should be your first choice for Taylormade.

As for other brands, these might be good too:http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/product.asp?pf_id=AdamsIdeaA3HybridMensIronSet&path=Iron+Sets&search_handle=QT1Jcm9uIFNldHN_Qj1Jcm9uIFNldHN_RD0zMH5JPVByaWNlfks9NH5MPTF_TT0zfg&scid=SearchResults&spoffset=1&s_id=0

Adam’s make the best hybrids on the market, and I’ve heard their Hybrid/Irons are amazing. I haven’t tried them myself, but I’ve heard good things about them, and you should definitely check them out and hit a few balls with them.

And there is one more, basically the sure win irons, the X-18’s:http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/product.asp?pf_id=PAPMACLABBOPBPBP&path=Iron+Sets&path=%240+-+%24400&search_handle=QT1Jcm9uIFNldHN_Qj1Jcm9uIFNldHN_RD0zMH5HPV9QMF80MDBeMX5JPVByaWNlfks9NH5MPTF_TT0xfk49Mn4&scid=SearchResults&spoffset=1&s_id=0

Callaway makes some of the best and forgiving irons out there, their Big Berthas have proved that, many companies have based their designs off of Callaway irons, and you can’t go wrong with them. One of the most forgiving irons out in the market. When shopping irons, Callaway will always produce great clubs.

Also, I hear Cleveland have something similar to the Adam’s, they are called the Ibrids, and this is a website that will sell them cheaper:http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/cleveland-golf-hibore-all-hybrid-irons-set-graphite.html

rock bottom is a great choice, they are a overstock store, and I have purchased club there, and they are legitimate.
