   @ravenTJ1979 Absolutely, except perhaps for maybe Maine Rd in 95 or Earls Court 95 where Alan White’s drumming was exceptional. As for Starkey, he could barely get the drumming right for any of the live stuff. Nothing they do has ever nor will ever the early stuff, certainly no live performance will ever match Chicago Metro/Gleneagles/Southend 94/Maine Rd or Earls Court 95. Even Knebworth wasn’t actually that good.

   Squire,Marr,Coxon would not really capture the Oasis guitar sound like Noel does, For example he could not do the solo for roll it over amd some one else did it for SOTSOG.

   The whole Tony could not play in Morning Glory is BS after the fight.

   But the definitively maybe songs sound better with the original line up cause those songs wre punkier and as wierd as it sounds the raw sound fist better than a technichal player , Page doing the pistols would not sound as cool as the real pistols, There is no performance with Alan White or Strakey that matches the live by the sea or metro versions.

    People say Tony McCarroll was a drummer because he was poor. To quote Alan McGee ‘it was pure Tom Tom drumming’. His sound was perfect on Definitely Maybe because it was a raw pure rock ‘n’ roll album. He would never have been able to play on Morning Glory, he wasn’t good enough. Just as Gem Archer and Andy Bell are better musicians than Bonehead and Guigsy, both were perfect for their time but not good enough musically to play on later Oasis stuff, you only have to see them live to see it.
