There’s something for everyone with this autumn’s two Mizuno driver launches, whether you’re a lower handicapper after workability and a satisfying oomph at impact, or a mid to high-handicapper relishing extra forgiveness and something a little louder. GM equipment editor Jezz Ellwood presides over this week’s Gear Vault video blog in which GM staffers Neil Tappin and Paul O’Hagan check out the merits of both clubs… and indulge in a macho-inspired long-driving contest.

Log onto the Gear Vault again next Wednesday to get GM’s take on the new Titleist 906F4 fairway wood, heralded as the company’s most playable to date.

Rate My Golf Swing!

Posted by Jeff Blanket

This was taking on my cell phone so if quality is bad, nothing I can do about it. I used the High Rate frame rate to get a slow motion of swing, it was at 120fps and the regular camera goes around 25-30, not entirely sure.

Rate My Golf Swing, tell me what I’m doing wrong, because I can’t seem to get rid of my fade/slice, or push fade. I think my body is ahead of arms, but I’m not sure. Also I think on my backswing my club is going to far back and is angled off plane. And I also think i may be going to far back on my backswing

Golf Instruction Video #1 of 3: You see golf pros often play fade and draw golf shots during tournaments to achieve a more desirable result with the golf ball. How do they do that? There are different philosophies of instruction and you’ll have to decide which one you like. I personally like the way Jack Nicklaus Teaches it. If you have a good golf swing and can hit the golf ball straight already, the easiest way to hit a fade or a draw is by simply opening the golf club face or closing the golf club face. This golf instruction video shows how to pick a target line, setup for a golf shot and then execute it correctly.
Consideration:
1: The more a club face is lofted, the less sidespin is applied. Very little sidespin is applied when opening the clubface of an 8 iron or higher for example. The ball just goes higher.
2: The less a clubface is lofted, the more sidespin is applied. Your driver has the leasts loft and the most ability to spin the ball sideways. When hitting a fade which requires opening the clubface, a 3 iron will apply more sidespin than an open clubface 7 iron.
